 My soul belongs to the blues, but my musical tastes are all over the map. The only real band I was ever in was actually a thrash metal band. I just love music and experimentation, so I'll try just about any kind of music, from jazz and the blues to world and everything in-between. I'm self-taught; I never had any formal training, but I can play guitar, bass guitar, and anything else that has frets and strings; some piano and drums; and some harmonica.
When I compose, I usually let my emotion rule the track and I never know what's going to come out when I start. I just get this possessed feeling that I need to release -- and I go with my heart. Music makes me feel normal and a part of the universe. It's the only thing that keeps me sane.
Who has influenced me? That's a tough one... there are so many, rooted in so many different genres. Just to name a few-- Buddy Guy, Tab Benoit, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd (who wasn't influenced in some way by them?), Janis Joplin, Slayer, Obituary, Terrorizor, Napalm Death, Within Temptation, Alison Krause, Tony Rice, Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, Ice-T, and Public Enemy, among many others.
I am the proud papa of two beautiful daughters, and they are my heart and my inspiration.
What's in the future? I haven't played live for years, but i would like to. I need to learn some covers and I plan to form a blues band -- this is in the works. I also plan on adding some vocal tracks soon, now that I am the proud owner of a new microphone.
